Step 1

Spreading silk

First, the silk is colored, spread, and wrapped on a circular wooden board. The total length of silk is 104 meters, from which 16 sarees are made. The silk is then taken to the loom.

Step 2

Set-Up Loom

Now the silk is set on the loom, borders are made around it, and motif designs are prepared. Jacquard is applied on the loom for the designer border. It takes about 3 to 4 days to complete the process.

Step 3

Weaving Process

Now at the final stage, the weaver weaves the thread of the material of which the saree is to be made, such as katan thread in a katan silk saree, pattu thread in a pattu silk saree, cotton thread in a silk cotton saree, and the silk thread warp is always the same in all. And then, through golden or silver zari thread, the motif is also prepared along with the saree. With the help of jacquard, the motifs are made from the thread of zari, and in this way, one Chanderi handloom saree is ready in 5 to 6 days.
